Many surveys are initially developed using a word processor such as MS Word. StatPac provides an easy way to create a codebook from a word-processed document. First, use your word processor to save the document in Rich Text Format (.rtf). Then close your word processor. Run StatPac and open the document in the "workspace" area. Select File, Open, Rich Text File, and select the document. The survey will appear in the workspace area of the screen.
